GRETA BELLAMACINA
The texts woven through the collection on the catwalk were taken from poems written collaboratively by Greta Bellamacina and Robert Montgomery, excerpts from their collaborative poetry collection “points for time in the sky”. The wardrobe recalls the way english indie kids may have dressed in the 1980s- fine vintage tailoring finds worn with punk rock t-shirts underneath. The slogans on the punk rock t-shirts are however replaced with more whimsical, poetic lines from Montgomery and Bellamacina’s book- “the future is a risk of our hearts”, “unprescripted love”, “permanent childhood saturdays”, “idiotic 20th century”, “grace puddle saviours”. A fine black leather artist’s smock jacket carried a surreal slogan hand-painted by Bellamacina “modern dead ideas, the seagulls are low planes on fire”. x
