ASA MADER
American born (1975) film director, graduate of brown and nyu’s tisch school of the arts, Asa Mader ’s first feature, la maladie de la mort, starring Anna Mouglalis, premiered at the venice film festival in 2003. His first stage direction, Heroine, another Mouglalis vehicle, was presented at the 2004 Ortigia Festival. In his guise as installation artist, Mader has exhibited films in Paris and New York, while his video for Coldplay ’s “Violet Hill ” was nominated in two categories at the 2008 MTV Music Awards. After collaborating with Benjamin Millepied on a dance and film performance work, years later, for Mikhail Baryshnikov, the two teamed up again in 2010 to co - direct the short time doesn ’t stand still, starring Léa Seydoux –– a project Mader calls “a stepping stone for a feature”. The Paris -based director is currently working on a pair of feature films and a music video collaboration with Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl ’s goastt project. X
